Although he lived in stardom for a rather short time, his music has forever changed the way I look and hear today’s music. Growing up in Seattle, I was too young to experience Jimi in his hay day. As I came to realize in the early 70’s, what I had missed, was still quite inspiring to me.

In the early days of FM radio, Jimi’s music was rising up from the underground. Jimi became the local radio stations (KISW and KZOK) banner icon performer. I didn’t really catch on to the international attention that Jimi had achieved until later on in life.

Jimi was buried about 3 miles from where I grow up. There were times when a few of us, late at night, would sneak into the cemetery and share a tribute doobie in his honor.
Now knowing how much Jimi influenced the world of Rock and Roll, I am sort of lucky to be able to share with you some of my childhood experience.

“Are You Experienced?”
