  • Its interesting that as soon as we shut down our stealth fighter program, they are popping up everywhere else.

  • You have to figure as soon as, and sometimes before, we roll out the new models the Chinese are reverse engineering one to be as good or better.

Eventually they will close the gap in technology. They are turning engineers out in droves, and we can't even get kids to learn how to read and write.

At some point by the sheer numbers of engineers over there will surpass the capabilities of ours here, especially when we let them come over here to study and take that technical knowledge back.

    The wr More..

Yeah well, they've been trying for many decades, yet they're still not close to being self-sufficient. They still have to import 4th generation fighter engines (the AL-31), because their own WS-10 aren't close to being reliable yet, and the fifth gen. WS-15 isn't even flying yet.
A fifth-gen fighter has to do more than just look cool, sticking feathers up your ass - don't make you a chicken, and reverse-engineering something ain't the same as designing it a new.
      China, presently, has More..

    • @Abanamat85 That is naive thinking, the Chinese just sent a capsule to space to dock with china's own space station so if you think they're relying on reverse engineering everything you're way off the mark.

If you mean the Shenzhou spacecraft, then it's Soyuz-based. It's not just reverse engineering, but simply Russian engineering.

  • Since they are still in testing of the J20 as a technology demonstrator.. i seriously doubt they are already starting a new Gen 5.

  • That is no f-22 or a j-60 you can tell by the wing structure. It is definitely not a SU-27 or SU-30. It is possible and I say POSSIBLE it is a SU t-50.

      Extremely, extremely unlikely.
Anyway, supposedly the Sukhoi T-50s have been grounded for some time, due to some problems with flutter (probably the reason why they redesigned the vertical stabilizer on the third prototype).

    • @Abanamat85
After looking at this more and comparing the shot of the wing tip to the su-50 I agree this is not a SU-50. it is not an f-35 it does appear to be a twin engine aircraft (hard to tell), relatively flat across the top, cropped delta type wing. The wing tip is most certainly similar to the f-35 but no way that's what this is. Hey maybe they actually did come up with something on there own. I am sure we will find out at some point. especially if they are transporting in this fashion.
