Originally broadcast from 1977 to 1978, 2 seasons 38 episodes. The highly successful 1974 movie of the same name is considered the pilot for the series. There was also a movie which concludes the series called "The Capture of Grizzly Adams" from 1982, where Adams ultimately proves his innocence.

There was also a 1990 film called "The Legend of Grizzly Adams". In that movie Adams was played by Gene Edwards who was Dan Haggerty's stunt double in the TV show, other than that there is no connection with the show.

Ben the bear's real name was Bozo.

Look closely at the Apple easy dessert commercial and see if you can spot a younger and thinner George Wendt long before his days as Norm on Cheers.

This intro is not the best video quality but the sound is pretty good. The source is from 16mm film that was transferred to VHS tape in the 1980's. The video tape didn't hold up very well. It's the best I have for now until I can do another film transfer myself. I have the original film reels, I should be able to get better video from it. That will be quite some time from now, until then enjoy!

  • I saw that actor on HBO's "Cathouse" a couple of years ago. He was paying for some tail.

I was crushed because I loved that show when I was a kid.

      The real Cyrano: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrano_de_Bergerac

      I throw my hat gracefully,
      I slowly abandoned
      The cloak that I caulked,
      And I take my swordfish
      Elegant as Celadon
      Agile as Scaramouche,
      I warn you, dear Myrmydon,
At the end of the sending, I touch!
