Drunk City Bus Driver Crashes Into Pole

TORONTO, CANADA October 20/ 2007 - An allegedly drunk city bus driver crashed his unit into a pole this morning. TTC drivers in Toronto get paid $26 an hour, and work only 8 hours a day but get paid for a full shift (10 hours) regardless.

For sure he will get "paid leave" as he is banned from working for 2 weeks, then he will be let back him thanks to the city bus union. I'll bet he will laugh off his "punishment" in Jamaica or Cancun.

In which part of Toronto did this occur? I have to agree the TTC union demands too much money for wages that could be better put in extending subway lines or buying new streetcars.

Actually checking the news this time, the driver was not drunk...he actually lost consciousness on Eglinton near Bathurst and crashed into the pole. No reports of major injuries.
