MILWAUKEE - Police released surveillance video taken at the Clark gas station at 60th and Fond du Lac on December 29.

The video shows the masked suspect walk into the gas station with a flaming bottle. He threw the fireball at the cashier, and nearly missed an innocent customer.

"The fire surprised me," station owner Mandy Boar said. "I mean, they can come with the gun or something. That's normal. But with the fire, I never expected that. It's the first time."

The fireball left an indentation on the bullet proof glass that protected the cashier. The cashier was not hurt, but the Molotov cocktail started several shelves on fire.

"All the candy was burning," Boar said. "It was a big fire."

But the reason the masked man did this is even more disturbing. Police said the gas station was robbed and ransacked back in 2007. One of the suspects was arrested then; the other was just arrested in December.

"This incident comes just a few days after the arrest, so investigators believe this could be linked to that," Milwaukee Police Sergeant Mark Stanmeyer said.

Boar also believes this was retaliation.

"They came back just to get revenge for whatever. That didn't take anything," Boar said.

But the fire, and the damaged glass, will cost her about a thousand dollars.

"I just hope they catch and put him behind bars because this is crazy," Boar said.

Luckily no one was injured.
