  • What I downloaded according to LiVES is:

    External:ffh264
    Internal: jpeg 24bpp
    FPS: 29.970
    Frame Size: 480x270
    Frames: 4910
    File Size 5.91 MB
    Audio 22050 16 Bit

I used the download function rather than some play-and-cache technique.

Update: This is way lower quality than playing the video using a flash player. It looks like the download gets a severely quality and size reduced version.

Judging by the download codec name ffh264 they may be using ffmpeg for the conversions?

ffmpeg is not DirectShow. It runs on Linux, Mac, and Windows as a library or a command line application.

If DirectShow uses ffmpeg then DirectShow will have a filter adaptor to call ffmpeg.

The most likely scenario for LL servers is ffmpeg running as an application that is called by the web server application to convert individual files that have been uploaded.

    • @BloodyPeasant Good enough for government work. Video looked fine.

I didn't see it the first two times. What's the movie? Looks like straight-to-dvd special effects.

Don't use download function it's not an accurate representation of what the servers did to the video.

This is playing @ 1280x720 with an isom Mp4 codec
The file size on the LL server is 20.3 MB

There is a variable bitrate, overall bitrate peaks at 1040 Kbps.
      The average bitrate is 1035.90
That breaks down into an average video bitrate of - 906 Kbps.
and audio bitrate is averaging 75.9 Kbps
With a few spikes during some scenes

The server rendered it into 20 frames per second More..
