30 Meter High Suicide Attempt
(23 July 2008) A distraught man in Izmir, Turkey had enough of his life and climbed an ancient Roman aqueduct. After attempts were made to talk the man down he finally decides to end his life after a few last thoughts. He jumped and barely caught the corner of an inflatable air bag rescuers had set up. His injuries, while serious, were not fatal and he'll live another day.

that's one thing I've never understood about some of these suicide attempts. sitting on a window ledge is one thing.. but if he'd actually intended to kill himself why wouldn't he just move over a few feet.. then I think he must really be that far gone mentally.

Most that "attempt" suicide are just seeking attention so you could call them selfish. Nearly all truly depressed people are self-obsessed, but it is a complex issue.
As much as you berate a depressed person they just turn to you and say "I Know, I don't deserve to live".
It's not a good state to be in even if they are just "attention seeking".
Most of these fuckers just need some attention, It's nice to be nice so just smile and say "hi". You may save More..
