02:30 PM CDT on Sunday, October 21,200 A gas station patron was burned to death Saturday night when a small explosion set their truck and the pump on fire.
It happened at an Exxon station on Highway 249 at Antoine.
When the Northwest Volunteer Fire Department got there, they could not get the body out. A witness had tried to pull the victim out but was forced back by the flames.
"He had tried pumped approximately three to four gallons of fuel prior to the fire," said Brian Holmes, an investigator for the Harris County Fire Marshal's office.
The body was so charred that it's unknown if the driver was a man or a woman.
The witness suffered minor burns and was taken to the hospital.
