Deluded Congressman Who Said Raped Women Don't Get Pregnant Is Evangelical Christian
Brains are not a requisite for being an Evangelical Christian. Big surprise he is from Missouri. Should someone who makes such statements be voting on things like abortion and the morning after pill?
Don't miss the "We can learn from the pilgrims" speech at the end. WOW

I'd like to know what these "defense mechanisms" are that doctors have apparently told him the female body has to stop pregnancy from rape? A gun maybe? That's a defense mechanism.

@DreadNought In a way he's partially right - it's called abortion.

The Pilgrims did NOT come to America to "escape persecution" - they came because they couldn't "practice persecution" in England.
Like the Pilgrims, evangelicals SAY God controls all but really, THEY want to control all. If they really believed God controlled everything, they would not comment on the lifestyle of others KNOWING God judge them later. Fact is - few religious types truly believe - they just say they do win a feeling of superiority.

@Nepean109 It's what all religion is about, ultimately. Man controlling man.

@smyle that reminds me, where was all your outrage when Maher was joking about Palins underage daughter getting raped?

and that reminds me, as since you also stated here on LL, no abortion for rape and incest victims, how many rape babies have you adopted? And did you ever get around to asking your mom/sister/grandmother/aunt/niece how she'd feel about carrying a rape/incest baby to full term? And let's make make the scenario as the result of an interracial gangbang of Mexicans and African immigrants as the rapists.
Please let me know how that conversation turned out.
"when Maher was joking" More..

@smyle so if I don't adopt babies it's OK for someone to go and kill them? Then it must be OK to kill old people who can't take care of themselves anymore.
You're fucking damn right I don't support abortion in the case of rape or incest, what the hell did the baby have anything to do with it?
So it's OK to joke about raping little girls but it's not OK to point out that abortion because of rape is extremely rare?

Extremely rare? Spent some time at a rape crisis centers have you? Spoken with rape/incest victims?
Oh, so no adoptions for you.
I guess you volunteer then at single mom clinics and donate money to support all those non-aborted rape babies, right? You must support welfare programs for single moms with rape/incest babies, right? All those un-aborted children and there moms need financial support, especially teenager moms. You're on board for that, right?

Don't forget, everyone! PAUL RYAN and Todd Akin co-sponsored the "legitimate rape" bill!

His foot is directly in his mouth.
The party has already started distancing themselves from him.
They are cutting off his election funding. Hoping he will drop out so they can get another candidate in place.

@castanza128 Oh yes, they distanced themselves from him quite aggressively...
... maybe it has something to do with that "legitimate rape" bill he co-sponsored with Paul Ryan!

We should not buy the "mistake" claim. In context, he was stating that doctors told him the body shuts down. This is total bullshit. The guy has to go. Republicans stand for intelligent debate, civilized discussion, honesty and integrity. To have this guy on the ticket would make the republican party as bad as the democrats. They support their idiots. (Talk to any more ghosts lately Nancy?)
