  • Bastages.
Paint everybody into a corner and force you to fight your own way out. then make certain to have the omnipotent police state in place for everyone that can't manage to do so, realizes it and is desperate and starving - then give them chump change to live on.

Third-worlders are now running the US government...instead of the old, wise, white guys, from the same folk that freed us from England in the 18th century and tried to ensure our rights via the Constitution. The very same ol More..

    • @copperdog3 if you yourself were out of work, you really could not give a shit. Obame is not even smart enough to simply move the government out of the fucking way to allow job creation to happen.

your right, and allot of it is his fault as far as the constant War money going out at first, but I personally am glad he went over and kicked some haji ass for that attack, but ten years is long enough .I think this Nation building stuff and all this money we give other Countries is for the Birds,.it's time for China to start giving these Nations the money,.and we sit back and give it to ourselves for at least ten years,..;)
      at least that's what I say,..lol

  • That's exactly what the feds want. Why though is beyond my logical reasoning. If the government lets the private sector employ more workers, don't they get more tax revenue? I just don't get it.

    • @DancesWithSharks Government deliberately creates chaos in order to distract and divert the people. Remember the 1960's - most people were happy, healthy and employed. Many were against having their sons drafted to fight in Vietnam. What did they do? The common American demonstrated against it, (I lost family there) some up to 250,000 strong, and almost brought the government to a stand-still. You can be sure the present muckety-mucks learned well from this. Despite their displayed stupidit More..

When you add in cost of living and gas prices..actually it does nothing..Pfft.. Dreamland!!! Obama is FUCKED.. He can't raise taxes.. He can close loop holes and overhaul taxes though.. Is that a problem with you?

Hardly. My tax bill went down several hundred dollars. It's not much, but I'll take it.

I am personally for a flat tax. No deductions. Keep it simple.

I don't know of any politician with the ability or desire to realistically put that through--too many advantages for rich folks in the current tax code. And many lower income people don't even pay any federal income tax. It's not right.

  • Hmm, other businesses aren't failing.

The economy is slow...it's the government's fault
    There aren't any jobs...it's the government's fault
My business model can't hand normal business cycles...it's the government's fault.

  • This wont be a rare thing, the more unpredictable and times outright hostile the business environment gets due to thuggish and intrusive policies, the more You will see people like this, the people that actually are the life blood of the country's economy, the people that employ the vast majority of workers.. just outright throw up their hands and say "fuck it, Im out"

Cant really blame them, they busted their ass to build their business to the point it is at, and now suddenly out More..

  • Does it bother conservatives that Ayn Rand was an "Anti-Christ". She wasn't an Atheist, like Christopher Hitchens, who doesn't believe in God but that Christians are quaint and a little nutty to do so.

Ayn Rand was fundamentally against Christianity, and sought to take advantage of core Christian beliefs. Her oft-stated argument was that the Christian believe in helping the old, poor and needy was a weakness to be exploited at every opportunity. She was anti-Christian.

  • There is a railroad spur near my house. Before the 2008 crash, it was filled with Container Flat Cars. It is about 2 miles long.
    Well eventually they all disappeared.
The other day I noticed the spur is starting to fill up again with parked railroad cars.
THIS TIME THEY ARE COAL HOPPER CARS.

  • Sometimes it just the business man's fault - not the government. There are mines all over the world with tougher safety standards and higher taxes than the USA. There are scores of mines throughout the US that are doing great under the same safety standards and tax rates as this one. Why is this guy having trouble? Maybe he should look in the mirror.

  • Ayn Rand is a sociopathic charlatan who has never considered anyone but herself. Isn't it a surprise that right wingers like this sort of nonsense, fuck the poor according to the right. Only people that can make money are worth anything to these scum.

    • @dantescritic Humm, so I guess Terry Douglas is nuts and you rather go by the the headline of the vid..that has merit..and make this a class warfare issue? People that make money, also make money for others.. It's ashame that someone that could create jobs just throws his hands up.. What is your solution to those he mentions that could have good jobs NOW?

    • @flashj2 Rand is the biggest promoter for class warfare that exists. And you don't create jobs by sending them overseas, which is precisely what the free-market HAS and will continue to do.

    • @dantescritic You obviously got off track with the man's point.. Rand has nothing to do with him throwing up his arms or her philosophy... Like I said, you go by the headline.. This is an ideological government direction and industry regulation issue, not a rich or poor.. It's very selective..winners and losers.. People on both sides can bring parallels with Rand.. It just clouds the issue.. Though you can argue that point if you want..

  • Poor little victimized coal mine owner doesn't understand that his business is dirty, dangerous and environmentally destructive so it requires a lot of government oversight that makes him have to jump through all kinds of terribly annoying safety rules and environmental protections. As a result, he can only clear $150 million/year instead of the $250 million he's used to getting, so he's going to "show them" by not building the mine at all and letting the people who live impoverished More..

    • @aranger45 - You can't discount the possibility that this guy is just a poor businessman. It happens.

It's hard for me to believe that other companies are making huge profits in the coal industry and this guy is complaining that he can't keep up.

I own my own company. Despite what alot of people think, I eat the leftovers after my vendors, sub-contractors,labor and government eat. If there's not enough food on the table after that, I have myself to blame.

    • @aranger45 - Production. I create and arrange things for industry, the government, non-profits and others. I write alot of checks, and then see what's left for me.

But I created new products in a relatively established industry. That's what this guy should have done.

Europe and Japan are screaming for new energy. japan is moving away from Nukes. Sounds like a growing market for clean coal! He should take advantage of the Governments investment in new coal tech. He'd get money, advice and l More..
