The Rasmussen Consumer Index, which measures the economic confidence of consumers on a daily basis, fell another point on Sunday to its lowest of 2011. At 69.8, consumer confidence is down three points from a week ago, down 16 points from a month ago and down nine points from three months ago.
The Consumer Index is now just one-tenth of a point above its lowest level for all of 2010 and 2011.
Just 21% now believe U.S. economy is getting better while 58% say it is getting worse.
On a personal level, just 18% believe their personal finances are getting better while 56% report their own finances are getting worse.
The Rasmussen Investor Index, which measures the economic confidence of investors on a daily basis, fell a point on Sunday to 79.1. While that’s up four from a week ago, it is still down 15 points from a month ago, and 14 points from three months ago.
Only 49% of investors report that their portfolio is worth more than it was a year ago. Forty-one percent (41%) say the value of their investments is down.
