Watch an octopus steal food and beat up a shark AT THE SAME TIME
It's a pajama catshark, but still. Octopuses are hilarious what with their penchant for puzzle-solving and infinitely useful
tentacles. Just check out this video by Lauren De Vos of the University
of Cape Town's Marine Research Institute — while filming a bait canister
in Cape Town's False Bay, a thieving octopus managed to undo the
humans' cable ties and wrangle with a pajama catshark (which is actually a dogfish) as if it were no big deal. Behold the secret slapstick comedy of the natural world above — you'll be glad you did.

@7ShadesofSunday Are you worried the octopus might have eaten something to kill itself in an attempt to kill you after death?

If humans were to disappear and octopodes survived, they would definitely be on the top list to become the next beings sending probes to Mars. After the 2nd great war with the sperm whales had ended, that is.

You know what.. It's almost worth wanting the human race to go extinct just to see if that would play out correctly..

I spear hunt for over 20 years. After catching my first octopus i decided not to hunt another one, they are just to smart, when you shot them, they look you in the eyes, try to remove spear, touch their wounds almost like assessing the damage. But overall it is their eyes, you know you are looking at a smart creature or worst a smart creature looking at you.

Cool video, but cat sharks are actually not dogfish. The term dogfish has been used loosely to describe any small shark but true dogfish have no anal fin. The catshark family has some of the most beautiful members as far as sharks go,....lots of different color patterns and such. Not just the 'guy in a grey suit' look.

Interesting Vid.
I've had my mask removed by these things.
But then again, that's only after i've pestered them into coming out from their hiding spot, so, I guess i kinda asked for it.
