The topless man, wearing just a pair of shorts, is seen giving a wave to the crowd below after climbing to the top of scaffolding around the speakers at the Creamfields Festival in Sydney.

Moments later, the amateur recording shows the music fan falling backwards and bouncing off supporting poles on the way down.

Amazingly, the lucky daredevil not only survived the fall, but escaped without any major injuries - and even discharged himself out of hospital to try to go back to the festival.

Horrified witnesses said they say also saw him cheekily give the thumbs up as he wandered off following the fall.

Inspector Andrew Koutsoufis of Surrey Hills police in Australia said: “The man got past security and climbed up the scaffolding. He then fell and luckily escaped serious injury.

“The man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital by ambulance. He then discharged himself before attempting to gain entry back into the festival.”

The unidentified man's death-defying antic took place during Swedish DJ Alesso's set at yesterday's event, which was headlined by David Guetta.

Alesso later tweeted: "Btw that crazy guy that jumped from the PA is alright...."

Police arrested and charged 75 people with drug-related offenses at the Sydney leg of the touring festival.
