    • @ClearMud Well, I do think "Crazy People" should be banned.. But other than that - you're listing stuff that are usable for other things than killing people. Assault weapons, not so much.

      I'm saving my thoughts for the Sunday discussion I think. And no - I'm not Sweden, I'm from Sweden but I am an individual and think this is an interesting question/debate if it's possible to hold the debate on a higher level.

  • Imagine the United States were dissolved into 50 separate countries. Mass murders would be unheard of in most countries. But because it's one country, it seems like it happens every day. It doesn't. People need to accept that in an affluent country, crazies have the means to hurt a lot of people. It just doesn't happen very often, fortunately. No changes to the laws or to society are needed.

  • I know the US is big on guns. And no matter how I say it, I'm sure I'll get a down vote or 20. But I'll leave you with this...

    I don't own a gun. I've never even held one. Don't ever care too.

    Consider the following.

    I'll walk my walk in life everyday knowing that at some point, I might run into a situation that having a gun to protect myself or family/friends would be a really handy thing to have.

    But I'll trade that in a heart beat, to live each day to its fullest and not live in fear EA More..

  • I don't know cannoli you say that cc wouldn't have been helpful in OR or CO because of crossfire. I would be happier(not that getting shot is what you would pick)to catch a stray bullet from someone shooting back as opposed to waiting and praying the shooter kills someone else.

  • Just for once I'd like to see the issue addressed of why someone does this. Every time it's all about " guns" The real problem is what goes on in someones mind to do something like this. There should be more focus on identifying the warning signs, mental issues etc

    If all gun production was stopped tomorrow we would still have 300,000,000 weapons in our country.
