A cat who really, really dislikes water offers good evidence felines are smarter than canines.

That's one clever cat

  • How is this evidence that felines are smarter?? Show me a cat that can bring food, water, and/or supplies to people trapped after an earthquake (or whatever Scenario) or can sniff out weapons and drug arsenals as part of covert operations, then you can talk about the intelligence differential between cats and dogs.

  • smarter... cleaner for sure. I like the saying that a dog is smart enough to sit and a cat is smart enough to tell you to go fuck yourself.

I have 4 cats (claws intact) and bathe them regularly, about once a month. They don't mind at all... and if the water is just right, they seem to actually enjoy it. In fact, one of them will roll in dust and then come inside and hang out in the bathroom until it gets a bath.

      Cats are fascinating.

  • Wow...

Even the dumbest dog is smarter than the smartest cat. That is a scientific fact. Social behavior and communication are two huge indicators of which cats perform miserably.

Look how small a cat's head is in relation to its body. All that cute shit they do is really just instinct.

    • @Martyr_Machine The smartest people in the world are highly unsociable. Then again by your definition they are stupid... Shame because if you ruled by socialist fascist dictatorship our world would go to shit in a week.
Not that I care, cats are annoying ass holes and I'd sooner have a cockroach as a pet.

Can the smartest people talk to other people. Yes. Can they navigate daily life without getting killed or thrown in jail? Yes. Think about how much social knowledge you have to have to make your own life tolerable. To us it is second nature. The smartest animals are also the most social. I didn't make that up.

      Also, not my definition.

    • @Martyr_Machine Actually intelligent people have a problem with authority which you fail to consider. Authority over-steps it's boundaries by telling people what they can do to themselves and what they can do on their own property.

So you're saying you're stupid if you don't obey your master's rules?

You are now arguing with yourself. I really DGAF if you agree or not.

Smart animals = social animals. Animals that communicate on a higher level = smarter animals.

      Get over it.

    • @Martyr_Machine Arguing with myself... So now I'm a schizo.

      I'll go with that.

  • Pound for pound, felines are the deadliest creatures in existence, if they got too smart, we'd be screwed

If an insect were the size of a mammals, they wouldn't be able to do the things or be as sturdy as they were.

  • An animal that is afraid of water is in no way smarter, it's just a pussy.

  • Not very impressive, crows can make tools from sticks to dig grubs and shit out of tree stumps and they can pass on information from generation to generation like what people to watch out for. Octopi have begun learning from each other, Dolphins can recognize themselves in a reflection where humans are the only other animals that has self-recognition. Besides can a cat do anything other than be a useless pet, unlike a dog that has many practical uses.

The fact that the cat can see that the side More..

  • It's funny, but really doesn't mean that the cat is smart. I've had cats and dogs and the dogs I have had were definitely smarter than the cats. This is funny.
