  • this just goes to show you that a second grader is more in tune with reality than a creationist is.

  • Too bad we don't have men like this running for office... I would much rather live in a world run by people that think about the world around them rather then making money for their friends...

  • This is what puts him on the level of Sagan. He will answer children's questions without treating them as children's questions.

  • Neil is an interesting guy.
Neil seems to be a rather nice guy.
I would offer, a nice and funny guy.
Kind of a Steve Harvey meets Carl Sagan guy.

But is it just me, or is LL, and the world having a collective orgasm over this dude?

    • @wharris You should see posts of him on Reddit lol

He's truly an inspiring guy though and there aren't near enough people like him out there.

    • @Roach1983 No doubt he is a smart and funny guy. I like him. I do not change the channel when he is on Discovery. Love his shows.

But it just seems like folks are a bit over the top, gushing over this guy.
To me, I get the sense that it's all a bit much.

Yep. Not just his knowledge, but his ability to convey it in a very interesting and enthusiastic way. I think if I had a list of celebrities I would like to have a beer with or even invite over for dinner, he would be in the top 10.

  • Great question from a 2nd grader even Ive wanted to know the answer to that one lol.

  • I hope this 2nd graders question isn't coached, and he in fact has a brilliant mind. Neil deGrasse Tyson is a brilliant man, even if he did screw a planet out of existence. But non the less if that kid is truly interested in astronomy, I hope he goes far and does big things.

  • There's a kid whose parents haven't raised him to hate.

  • I always loved astronomy and the physics and chemistry involved. Trying to fathom how vast the universe is, the amount of stars and planets, we are unique but on such a grand scale who knows what is out there.
