Croft farm , Defford UK
A RV-7a was damaged in an incident at Croft Farm on 9th June. The damage is substantial. At the end of the landing roll, and with some braking applied, the nose was bounced back into the air and when it came down it buckled under and flipped the aircraft over.
Speed was estimated as 10-15 mph by Richard and a ground marshal.
The runway was not a bad surface and the aircraft should have handled it.
Richard only has minor ligament damage to his shoulder and his son was ok.
Damage seems to be:
Prop, engine, nose leg, fuselage, vertical stab, rudder, canopy, right wing outboard skin and tip. Cowls and left wing seem repairable. Engine mount unknown. Spar conditions unknown.
Insurance has now written off the aircraft.
