On the 8th of March, animal rights protesters showed up outside and around the Washington Convention Center, protesting the direct presence of Huntingdon Life Sciences at a vivsection-oriented convention inside.
This is the first time in at least five years HLS themselves has had the nerve to show up anywhere near DC. Last time around, it was the "quality assurance board" a front for HLS, in Crystal City somewhere around 2005.
From March 7-9 The Society of Toxicology has been holding their 50th Anniversary Conference at the DC Convention Center. Huntingdon Life Sciences(HLS) is in booth #561, Covance and James River, their two main competitors, are also there.
HLS, James River, and Covance are all contract animal research laboratories, their prAnimal activists confront HLS at Washington Convention Center.esence at the Society of Toxicology convention or "Toxexpo" is no doubt related to such "science" as testing how much bleach you have to drink to die from it, an experiment actually carried out at HLS.
