Very true, its also debated how well kung-fu would perform in the "real world" versus other martial arts, even without weapons.
There are far better martial arts for the modern man, Krav Maga, Systema and the like. Which also utilize training for situations involving modern weapons.
If I was a gambling man, I would even bet on Jiu-Jitsu over kung-fu if a match was to take place TBH.
Then there is wushu... might as well be a ballerina. lol
