Solar Momas
If a native African Grandmother can teach a person who can't read how to build a solar panel, why can't the U.S. Marine Corps train an army to win ?...Sounds like the opening for a joke..That's because it is.
In Jehane Noujaim’s new film Solar Momas, she follows Indian
philanthropist and businessman Sanjit “Bunker” Roy as he travels to some
of the world’s most impoverished villages on a quest to find local
grandmothers he can train as solar engineers.
He goes to remote areas of
Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America, recruiting women to
come to his Barefoot College in Rajasthan, India for a 6-month training
program. When they’re done, the grandmothers go home with the
technology and skills to electrify their villages.

Because our cultures teach us that death is to be avoided wherever possible. You are fighting an enemy (actually various enemies) that not only welcome death, but are fighting on their own soil that they know very well, and most importantly have the HMG (Higher Morale Ground).

I like projects like this, hopefully the right people will be found, who will build a society based on Solar energy, not on oil or coal or nuclear energy, a society to teach all us greedy wasteful westerners that a successful society need not destroy the ground beneath it's own feet to stay afloat in technological advancement and civil development.
