The State of Maine's Dept. of Wildlife administers health treatment to adult and baby bears in hibernation (dental check-ups, etc). These photos, document the rangers' efforts to do a health check and dental treatment on a momma bear while the wildlife staff watches over her cubs. The sleepy heads were then replaced in the den by the rangers.
