  • A-4 was a great plane.

However, Remotely piloted aircraft are the future.

  • I'd love to see the rest of this and see if they are historically accurate or just gloss over a few things (which I completely expect).

  • Britain may have claimed victory in the end in the Falklands but one glaring fact remains~ A relatively small country gave those Brits quite a bloody nose for their victory and made them pay dearly for it with a savage mauling.

Of the two I feel Britain was most relieved to see the end of the Falklands war, Argentina has every right to be proud for the showing she gave the crown.

FWIW, those islands are spitting distance from Argentina, not England and all the world knows it.

Primarily, the casualties we took were down to old English rules and snobbery. Someone back home in the UK making all the decisions instead of leaving it up to those who were there.

As for the sovereignty of the islands. They've been legally British for far longer than Argentina has laid claim to them. Brits have inhabited the Islands for centuries. As long as the inhabitants, the rightful inhabitants want to remain under the Crown, the UK will defend them.

    • @bmused55 the casualties took were down to cutbacks and outdated equipment geared to cold war anti sub warfare.the anti air equipment was mostly obsolete and no full size carrier with aew aircraft

Did you sleep through the eighties?

The British took the Falklands with the Argentines outnumbering them by 3 to 1.

The Argentines had their asses handed to them by the British forces.
