DREXEL HILL, Pa. - Two men are almost a $100,000 richer after stealing an ATM from a local hospital.

The brazen heist happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Upper Darby, police said.

"This was a sophisticated, well-planned, well thought-out heist," Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said.

Armed with a clipboard and dolly, the men meandered their way to the ATM in the hospital's cafe area, police said. In less than two minutes, they cut the machine's wires, threw it onto a dolly and were off to the parking garage elevators. After loading the machine into their white van and paying for parking, the men were free and clear.

The van was found Tuesday by Philadelphia Police in Southwest Philadelphia. It was torched with the empty ATM inside, police said.

The ATM was not bolted to the wall, but did have an alarm. The suspects were able to bypass it by tripping the machine's power failure safety feature first, Chitwood said. An hour later the bank came to fix the power failure and found the machine was gone.
