Man steals $6500 Rolex from Airport

A search is under way in South Florida for a man who made a very untimely decision to take a $6,500 Rolex watch left behind by a fellow passenger traveling from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

New video released Tuesday shows the man picking up the stainless steel and gold watch from a plastic bin as he passed through a Transportation Security Administration security checkpoint at the airport on Jan. 18.

Officials from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said the watch was mistakenly left behind by 43-year-old Gloria de Regalado who was preparing to fly home after a South Florida vacation. De Regalado realized her mistake 30 minutes later and returned to retrieve the Rolex, but by that time the watch was gone.

  • Meh.... a clear case of finders keepers. If he would have turned it in, the next day some Ethiopian TSA agent would have been wearing it while he fondled six year old suspected terrorists.

  • This silly bastard just learned the hard way that it truly does pay to be honest... Actually, he also learned that there's a fee for being an asshole.

  • Anybody stupid enough to walk away leaving a $6,500 Rolex watch behind probably doesn't deserve to have a $6,500 Rolex watch.

  • Hope they catch the guy but in an international airport i doubt it, they take photo IDs of everyone traveling through that airport so surely they can identify him by name

  • We used to live in a society that gave things that didn't belong to them in so the person who made the error got their gear back, sadly its now every one for themselves and even if its nailed down you steal it.

Just look at our riots here in the UK, every little thief was out that night ripping poor struggling shopkeepers lives apart by ransacking their shops over anything. An awful lot of insurance companies didn't pay out these poor bastards. While the scum of the earth just walked away scot More..

  • If this happens in japan, everybody give back the watch. We dont steal like monkeys. You western people have mad moral and very bad logic. Thats why you have high crime rate, because everybody think the same.

    • @breccia77 because we have high pride. if we feel we become burden to society or we lost face better we die instead living in shame. our culture is different. dont compare.

In usa more ae killed than japanese people freely commit suicide, which is better?
