  • Right, let's see.....50 years ago would be 1962. The top marginal tax rate in 1962 was 91%. Today it's about 38%, but still the right wing wants to claim the rich are being "taxed to death" as helpless victims of Liberal class warfare against them in 2012.

      True, 38% is for rich people that work. Super rich people that make millions off the labor of everyone else without lifting a finger only pay 15%. Once they donate 10% of their income back to the cult that used to employ them they get it down to 13%-- but they are still helpless victims of mean Liberals who take all their money.

    • @picklethepug Capitalism is not a zero-sum game. There is no finite amount of capital. Wealth is not created when someone takes it from someone else. Instead, wealth is created when there is investment and a return on capital.

      There is no limit to the amount of wealth that can be created in a capitalist society -- even for the poor (like me).
