This came about through the collective bargaining process, not anyone "running away". Im my State, we have the shortest school year in the nation because our wonderful governor would offer the teachers nothing better than 24 unpaid furlough days a year.
That's not a "pay freeze" that's a 9 % pay cut.

I wouldn't teach the little monsters for twice what they make. I know teachers and they deserve every cent. Is the downward spiral of this country ever going to stop? We are becoming more like Mexico every day...but maybe that's because there are 40 million of them in the USA and they're increasingly running shit in this country. Of course there couldn't possibly be any correlation.

Most of the teachers I've known are good people.
Gov. Christie is a good governor.
Nice to see they worked together.

I wouldn't HAVE you teach my kids for twice what the
teachers make.Reason number one is that you're too
stupid.Number two is that both of my kids went to
private schools, which means that I had to come up with
the tuition,books,uniforms,transportation to and from
school,music,sports,clubs and everything else, while
my taxes continue to flow to a school system that we
thought sucked so badly, that we could not feel like
we had done the right thing for our kids, unless we
kept them out of th More..

I'm pretty sure my home state of Massachusetts is losing a house seat this census. It's exactly what I wanted. But I just hope it's going to a state with this kind of leadership.

Um...I know at least a dozen teachers who are in it for the money, the great benefits (unaffordable now) AND the time off.
All over the country public employee union contracts are bankrupting state governments.
What Christie has done is not caved in to threats and intimidation from union chiefs, and has forced schools TO DO WHAT MILLIONS OF FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS ACROSS THE US ARE DOING WHICH IS TIGHTEN THEIR BELTS AND CUT THEIR DAMNED BUDGETS BECAUSE THERE'S LESS MONEY COMING IN.
America, More..

Yep, and the unions aren't in it for the students, hence the problems we get with teacher's rights trumping our kids' education.
