Caravan for Peace marches on Mexican consulate against drug war
On the 12th of September, hundreds of people, many of them immigrants
from Mexico, marched on the Mexican Consulate on 16th st demanding an
end to the bloody "war on drugs" that accelerated viciously when
Calderon took power.
Some of the marchers were people who have been personally victimized by
Mexico's drug war. Over 60,000 people have ben killed in this war, a
conflict supported by the United States. Some of stories of drug cartel
violence this war has stirred up put the worst of the Iraq War to shame.
