    • @brokenrob And yet he still signed it.
and why did he sign it? because he liked it.

it should be overturned by the Supreme court.

  • Why did Republicans in the House vote for it?

    • @Ding_Jianwen The house vote was 399 yes,3 no and 30 present but did not vote.Interestingly enough, the senate also overwhelmingly voted in favor, but no record of votes was taken.

    • @echo4250 That was the initial vote before it was sent to the Senate in which the Senate made an ammendment and sent it back to the house. The final vote was 388 Yeas and 3 Nays with 42 not voting.

Ron Paul was one of the Nays.

    • @Ding_Jianwen I don't know why. The bill was introduced by a Republican.

    • @Templeton Amazing how they all unite on something that limits the rights of the people.

    • @echo4250 Both sides certainly did in this case. The author of the bill claims the reason for its procurement was because its not considered in a federal crime in Washington DC to hop the fence and trespass on the white house lawn. Problem is though, this bill gives power to the secret service to enforce a much wider area than the white house lawn.

  • Again I wonder why are we not doing a god damn thing? Honestly believe this needs to go past peaceful protesting, cause honestly if you think its working than why the fuck is he and his goon squad still in office? Oh right apart of a broader picture. Something is going to come up that will spark it.

  • Is this to try and shut up those Westoboro Baptist Church assholes at soldier funerals?

    • @kingfordlm No! that was the
"The Honoring America’s Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act"

      and it's unconstitutional as well.

    • @nickgj83

I'm with you. I don't care how much I hate someone or what they say or where they say it I'm not going to pass a law to shut them up. Those assholes have been protesting at soldier funerals for years and the world didn't come to end, did it? Politicians are shit-eating cowards.

    • @kingfordlm
Reminds me of a statement a friend made once: "I will defend, to the death, your right to burn the American Flag as an exercise of free speech; however, I'll kick your ass if you do it in front of me!"

  • Passed in the House where the Republicans hold a commanding majority and in the Senate where they are only 4 votes shy of a majority.

Having said that, how anyone can stretch this law to the point that "free speech" is dead is hyperbole.

    From GPO.GOV:

    The actual Act.

"‘‘(a) Whoever— ‘‘(1) knowingly enters or remains in any restricted building
or grounds without lawful authority to do so; ‘‘(2) knowingly, and with intent to impede or disrupt the
    orderly conduct of More..

    • @downhill2400 kinda sounds like it was directed toward the occupy movement in an effort to keep them from camping out in Federal buildings and such, but what the heck do I know. Any highly overeducated English majors want to comment on the text? Landsharks that means you as well.

    • @dredd78 I'm sure you're correct.
However this Fox News folks wanted to make it appear that The President is "Killing Free Speech" regardless of the fact that this was a Republican driven Law. Had Obama Vetoed this law, Fox News would have attacked him for "weakening the security" of our nations leaders! LMAO
