At least two people, including a police officer, have been killed and scores of others injured in the second day violence in Mombasa following the killing radical Muslim cleric Aboud Rogo Monday. A grenade was hurled into a lorry that was transporting police officers to Kisauni to contain the violence, resulting in the death of one police officer and seriously injuring 13 others. In the course of the day, rowdy youths engaged the police in running battles leading to looting of property and torching of at least one more church, effectively paralysing operations in some parts of Mombasa.
