Of course gone too far! I rent a room once in a newer house. The electrical outlets had sliding covers over the slots (child-proofing - the wee one might stick his finger in there!) I thought that was overkill cause when i was 5 i learned all about electricity, at Granpas farm. I watned to pet the cows behind the wire fence, which looked pretty flimsy to a 5 year old. I grabbed it, of course, and thats when i found out about cow-fences - it was electrified somehow. After get the Hell zapped out of me i asked ma and pa WTF? They said it is so the cows don't push the fence over. And that was that - no signs, no child-proofing, ZAP!

The idiot warnings are not written for the public, they're written for the lawyers. The companies can always say that a warning was posted whenever there is a product liability case. If you think it's strictly a liberal issue, you need a warning label on your forehead that says "caution, weak sauce."
