Maj. General Paul Eaton On Bush Viet Nam Comparison

Retired Major General Paul Eaton gave his view on the Viet Nam comparisons made by President Bush. Needless to say, he was not impressed and slammed Bush, comparing his failures in Iraq to those made during the Viet Nam conflict and his misunderstanding of the basic facts. Maj. General Eaton has long been a critic of the president and the Republican party for the devastating damage they’ve done to our military.

  • The American military has failed miserably in Iraq, even their Coward-in-Chief now recognizes that. We knew it was just a matter of time before the Vietnam comparison became painfully hard to avoid. As in Vietnam, so now: America will lose an unjust conflict waged on lies.

  • They should try a diplomatic surge of trying to beg other more greedy selfish countries to get involved in exchange for oil like France, Germany, Russian , or ANYBODY at the rate things are going our economy funding this massively expensive war all on our own will eventually implode. There is 300 billion barrels of oil just waiting to be tapped but we cant do it all alone. The world has gotten so resentful towards our current administration that nothing positive is really going to happen until More..

  • Most people in the world understand that America MUST fail in Iraq. Never again must America even imagine for a second that it can wield its arrogance against the will of the civilized world.

Ironically, this unjust war has made more muzzies hate us, the West. That's what infuriates millions of us. We now have to watch our backs for fundamentalist fanatics because a bunch of illiterate cowards went into Iraq.

  • You cant blame us. You live in a democracy and it was your people who chose to elect your own crusaders that drug you into this thing.

  • Blame the "Decider." He hasn't "served much well" when he opens his mouth, his foot within. His arrogance and lack of humility make many suffer....

You made some points. But relating this war to "Vietnam" isn't exactly correct or truly justified, quite foolish too (Bush), especially since were dealing with the three "great" religions...each claiming direct dialog More..

  • ...WWI begat WWII; WWII led to WWIII...Cold War. Cold War begat WWIV....religious and radical fundamentalism. No one side here can possibly win! Study history. All cultures and every nation has its ups and downs...we can't deny that. Blah, blah, blah....

"Vietnam comparison?" Oh, what a real joke and a last ditch technique to add credibility to "God's want" of freedom, gone wild!

  • @BananaBob, thats the problem with you war mongerers - you can only see the world in extremes, black and white. Oh and BTW, you might wanna replace the phrase "freedom for all of mankind" to "global capitalism".

If you honestly think we went in to Iraq to be nice to the Iraqis then you need to read some history books.
