Slumdog Child Actor Slapped By Father For Refusing To Speak To Journalists.

New Delhi: Slumdog Millionaire's child actor Azharuddin Ismail was slapped by his father for refusing to speak to journalists after a tiring journey from Los Angeles (LA).

Ten-year-old, Azharuddin was beaten up by his father, Ismail Usnay on Friday. The reason being, Azaruddin who was tired from his long haul flight from LA refused to meet curious onlookers and journalists.

"He slapped me out of love. I was not listening to him and didn't want to take any more interviews that is why he slapped me," said Azharuddin.

The entire incident was captured by the same shutterbugs which had just six days back clicked the boy parading the red carpets of Hollywood.

"My son gave interview to the media but later since he was tired he refused to give an interview again, I dint like his attitude so I slapped him. I didn't mean to hurt him," explained Azharuddin's father, Mohmmad Ismail.

"He was tired after giving interviews to channels. When his father asked him to give the last interview he was not willing to give, so his father slapped him. It was not intentional," said Azharuddin's mother, Shamima.

Azharuddin played young Jamal in Danny Boyle's Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire. He along with Rubina Ali -- who played young Latika -- and the rest of the cast of the film went to LA to attend the 81st annual Academy Awards ceremony.
