Deandre William Handy, 19, was arrested by Frederick
Police on the charge of an attempted sex offense case against a nine
year old girl. The mother of the young girl allowed Handy, a family
friend, to stay the night at her home, when he attempted the abuse.
He reportedly went into the girl’s room as she was sleeping and
removed her from her bed and took her to the room he was staying in, and
tried to remove her clothing. She woke up while he was trying to remove
her clothing and ran from the room and told her mother.
Handy is now charged with second degree assault, attempted sex abuse of a minor, and attempted sex offense.
