Napier, New Zealand. Gunman Jan Molenaar was found dead today after heavily armed police entered his house at the center of a two-day siege.

It began on Thursday when police with a search warrant entered the property to carry out a search for drugs. Molenaar shot and killed Senior Constable Len Snee, and seriously wounded two other police offices, he also wounded a neighbor who tried to disarm him. Over the next two days armed police surrounded his house and try to negotiate his surrender. Molenaar refused to come out and carried on shooting at whatever he could.

Molenaar, a former territorial soldier and described by friends as a “Rambo”, was heavily armed and had placed explosives around his property.
