Painty the Pirate asks the kids if they are ready. The kids answer, "Aye, aye, captain."
Painty does not hear the kids, so he says, "I can't hear you."
The kids repeat their previous answer, this time screaming it.
Painty the Pirate then asks the kids, "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?"
The kids correctly answer, "SpongeBob SquarePants." They scream this, hoping that Painty will hear.
But Painty doesn't hear. He thinks that the kids didn't answer his question because they don't know the answer.
He offers a hint, "Absorbent and yellow and porous is he," hoping that it will help them.
The kids again correctly scream, "SpongeBob SquarePants."
Again, Painty does not hear the kids, so he offers another hint.
"If nautical nonsense be something you wish," Painty begins.
Before Painty can finish this hint, the kids interrupt by screaming, "SpongeBob SquarePants," yet again.
Painty the Pirate finishes the hint--"then drop on the deck and flop like a fish"--which makes the kids scream the correct answer a fourth time.
Thinking that the kids still do not know the answer, Painty the Pirate gives up in frustration and tells them, first asking if they are ready to ensure that they are listening to him.
"SpongeBob SquarePants," Painty says. And in case the kids missed what he said, he repeats this three times, seemingly unaware that the kids are screaming, "SpongeBob SquarePants," along with him all but the last time, when the kids apparently give up on attempting to get him to hear them.
Painty the Pirate proudly laughs, thinking that his question was so tough that it stumped the kids.
