Nice find... but as a detectorist myself,I can't help but notice how many divots you just left turned over without burying them back.One of the Golden rules in detecting is to leave an area better than you found it.
Not to mention.... why would you scrape your thumb with all the dirt and grit against a coin like that? Take a bottle of water with you and rinse it off...

About the rubbing, I totally agree ! As I was watching, I was saying to myself "No !... No !... Don't !"
But about the "divots", I'm not sure. We don't see well enough. Maybe he did put them back in the hole, but without the grass on top. Or he had to spread the soil on the grass and then couldn't clean it properly...
