CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Four people were hurt when a light rail train and car collided in south Charlotte Tuesday morning.
The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. along Hebron Street near South Boulevard.

The driver of a bronze Chevy HHR was test driving the vehicle with a
salesman, who was in the front passenger's seat. The vehicle belongs to
Drive Time used car dealership at 7301 South Boulevard.
“His recollection of it—the train arms came down and the person
driving tried to go around the arms and they were clipped by the train
at that point,” said Eric Pierce, the regional manager of Drive Time.
Police said 19 people were on board the train, and four of them went
to the hospital as a precaution. The two people in the car were not
hurt.
