  • Cop cars need a 30mm cannon, just one quick burst and it'd be over. I hope they kicked his azz after the foot chase.

    • Yeah lets give police even more power over a civilian population, awesome idea. You really thought that through.

  • There's so much modern technology available that could render the high-speed chase obsolete. Why does this shit still happen?

    Posted Mar-21-2010 By

    • Cos the cops love a good high speed pursuit. Just as much as we love watching video of them doing it. But yeah other then that, high speed chases are totally pointless, and certainly not worth the risk to the public.

    • Yeah. so many people could have died there...they need a bullet type thing to shoot on a car that gives a radar location at all times

  • that was pretty intense, thanks!..voted

  • Cop put many innocent people's lives in danger by continuing that chase.

    • Exactly my point!

    • Typical retarded mindset... the cop put people at risk ?? are you fucking stupid ?? the SUSPECT put people at risk..... he was soo far ahead of the police there is NO way he could have even been sure he was being chased until they caught back up to him.. I am sick and fucking tired of you people fucking talking shit about the cops when the suspect is the reason all this is taking place.

another thing for all you inbred fuckers who run.. If you do not have rated tires and proper suspension yo More..

    • Retarded is more an American thing. In Europe we don%u2019t have to put 4% of our population in jail. As you said it your self: cop got back on him after a while because he slowed down. Then it all started again. So where is your point?

  • Everybody else is going 80mph on the freeway

    Posted Mar-21-2010 By

    (6)

  • is this the common way in the states when a emergency vehicle is behind you? just hold ur line?

    Posted Mar-21-2010 By

    (5)

    • Well since most of the traffic was moving about 50 or 60 mph, and the police car was doing about 120 or 130 mph. The other drives would not have had enough time to react one way or the other. Anyways, if you had enough time to consider your options. Staying in your lane would probably not be a bad idea. Since changing lanes at that point, could result in a collision with the cop's car, if you cut him off.

  • Some good points on here...this chase certainly probably should have been discontinued in the heavy traffic and with the suspect running the red light...

However, there is a fine line for us officers when we try to decide whether or not to chase someone..it all boils down to what are the chances the subject is going to be caught without further endangering civilians.

You also have to weigh the continued threat to civilians having the suspect loose causes...i.e. psycho that just killed his More..

  • Why are so many American cops, state troopers, prison guards etc. always so frigging fat??!!

Isn't there some physical fitness requirement or is that against American civil liberties?

I would think that in their line of work it would be important to live a fit, low cholesterol, low fat way of life as your own life may depend on that.

    Posted Mar-21-2010 By

    (4)

    • No matter how fit you are you'll never outrun a bullet. But yes decades ago there stringent standards that had to be met(Height,Weight,Smarts etc).

But after years of liberal pussification everywhere the sky is limit for people who just don't cut the mustard.

  • If this was not a felony stop, this chase is a joke. People get killed because of chases like this.

This is what happens when these chases go wrong. For those that cant be bothered reading its a police chase that happened overnight, crook ran a red light and T-boned a car killing 2 adults and a baby. The cops claim they ended the chase moments before the accident.

    Posted Mar-21-2010 By

    (3)

    • Again..... the SUSPECT killed the people.. not the police.. so I guess in your mind if a cop says stop and you do not stop the cops should just leave you the fuck alone.. yep sounds good.

These same people who bitch about this shit are the same ones who complain about response times and the cops not doing anything when THEY want something done.. amazing.

      Posted Mar-21-2010 By

      (5)

    • I'm not condemning the chase just adding perspective. I think there is a fine line though between catching the crook and endangering motorists, discretion needs to be used.

      Posted Mar-21-2010 By

      (5)

    • ANY time the suspect runs, any injuries / damages / deaths should be tacked onto the one who ran. Otherwise, you are just empowering the criminals who will again continue to victimize the honest citizens. If someone dies, put the runner (NOT the cops) up for capital murder, PERIOD.

    • Well said.

      Posted Mar-23-2010 By

    • You're an idiot if you agree with a statement like that.

You can even look at this like a hostage situation. Suspect is in position to kill hostages - but police run after him with guns anyway, and suspect kills all the hostages.

Had the police chosen their differently, they could have prevented lives from being lost. This goes the same with dangerous car chases.

On another note, it is clear that the cop driving kept other drivers' safety a priority. Always left himself some room for error, n More..
