Why not? At least they aren't shoving their philosophy down our throats. I can relate to some of it's views though.

I used to be religious, then agnostic, then considered myself a humanist and finally an atheist.
Though I don't see much difference I think I prefer the label "humanist".
I'd rather be for something than against something.
I do not think there is a firm line that separates the two.

Excellent range of notable academics, social commentators and other humanist voices.
Christopher Hitchens would be proud.

Hehe, pretty nice. I'm an atheist, this seems like a fluffy version of it - and why not I guess. I don't think anyone will convert in any direction though.

Ha, I didn't know Polly Toynbee was an humanist, I always had her down for being a bit religious...funny the perception of people you build up after seeing them daily on TV.

Humanism is fine and dandy but in the hands of bad people it can simply be as bad as bad religion.

@Rataro Humanists don't have leaders they just learn off each other to better improve their lives.

@Rataro Where is the link and evidential data for that?
That's like saying pen tops are harmful in the hands of bad people, but unless you have some form of statistical data to prove that, the assumption is a none starter.

@CargeLock Well said, sir.
Pseudo-religious cryptic comments deserve the beatdown.

@Rataro
I doubt that, since Humanism is not based on a book which on its turn is used as means to indoctrinate. Don't see Humanism as a confined way of life, I consider it more as a concept. Humanists show acceptance of the unknown and have self criticism, hence the relation to science. Aspect I see very little in religion.
