Police say they were trying to steal a computer from a Wal-Mart at 8301 North Church Road Tuesday night.
The Remingtons left the store, got into their blue Suzuki and then tried to run an off-duty officer down in the parking lot. The officer was not hurt.
The chase lasted 13 minutes and spanned over Interstate 435, I-35, Highway 9 and Parvin Road.
“They were causing a safety hazard for everyone, you could tell they were intentionally trying to go into oncoming traffic,” Sgt. Stacey Graves said.
At one point, the vehicle hit speeds as high as 80 mph before hitting spike strips near southbound I-35 and Parvin.
“The dash cam video shows kind of an inside look of what we see behind the wheel,” Graves said.
The vehicle continued on Parvin to 9 Highway before going off-road and crashing into a retaining wall.
Officers arrested the couple in the nearby woods.
“I am glad no one was hurt and I am glad they were taken in custody,” Graves said.
Tamara Remington is being held on a $20,000 bond and her husband Richard is held on a $15,000 bond.
