there's a book called "thunder run" that tells this story,the other 2 "moe" and 'larry" along with "curly",good book that tell this unit and the others trying to hold down this area (theses guys were the supply line) while the main thunder run unit smashes its way through central bagdad or as its was to be know as the green zone,white knuckle combat at its best.

@diablokid I'm not much of a reader, but this book had me engaged right from the beginning. He did a damn good job giving visuals and other sensory to make you feel like you were there. I would give you a thumbs up, but I'm unable to until I get more myself. So instead, THUMBS UP!

man i forgot all about this footage, i remember 2003 i was up all night while they covered this stuff, alot of troops where hiding under highways, cnn had some stuff also.
crazy stuff, the best video of the invasion was the footage of iraq troops getting coaxed on the side of the river.

I remember seeing this battle live as it happened. The wounded soldier on the stretcher providing cover fire for the men carrying him. There was another video of a soldier firing his weapon while a medic worked on his wounds. It was from this same battle. I think a few bronze stars were awarded here.
