    • @skyhawk53 No, she didn't chicken out, she was actually engaging the perp the whole time.
But she did what many without training do, close with the target instead of stepping back to safety. A firearm is not more or less effective within a few feet. But the extra distance she could have used could have been the difference between her getting stabbed and/or lost control of the gun, or stepping out of reach of the perp.
She was too focused on the money, even the robber had lost interest in the reg More..

    • @Ulv no,lol....she almost GAVE the gun to the robber! However i think that little hispanic lady did her best and she didn't shoot cause women in general are less likely to shoot anyone because of their so-called Maternal Instict - they are the ones giving birth and killing another human being is much more personal for them, even if it endangers their own life.
But if it was a BLACK robber the outcome would have been different - white robbers rarely kill

  • See how fast a gun changes the balance of power in such a situation? Without that gun she could have been robbed, beaten, raped or killed. When you think about how many lives guns take also think about how many lives they save.

  • I dont' know why all the complaints about her NOT shooting him.
SHe achieved her objective with no one being hurt.
For some reason,, people think killing a robber is fun. The truth is, for a normal person, having the fact that you killed someone hanging over your head is not a good thing - even if the person was wrong. Killing is an act where there is no second chance.
She made her point, he didnt' get any money - she didn't get hurt. Hopefully the cops will find him and take care it.

    • @TheRealVisionary And now the robber will go on to another location and try the same thing, only this time, what if he's more jumpy, and doesn't just threaten but actually stabs someone? I'd much rather have to suffer the slings and arrows or knowing I killed someone and they can't hurt anyone else anymore, than simply get caught up in the whole "at least I didn't get hurt" bullshit while knowing that the guy is still out there, possibly harming other people.

The "people" we are discussing are ALREADY DOING SOMETHING BAD, life-threatening even. They are taking all the guess-work and guilt out of the equation for me, as soon as they attempt armed robbery. Maybe if they are unarmed they get this outcome, but you never know for sure if they ARE unarmed. So, its all a spin of the roulette wheel in my opinion.

    • @SpicyTruth The constitution was written when the wild west existed. You had to have a gun to protect you.
You now live in a civilized world, side by side with your fella' americans - There is no reason for you to own a gun except for - if you like going hunting.

If you get drunk or upset by something - having a gun close by can very easily lead to a dangerous situation.

I know you are american and you care very much about your constitutional rights - but look at the statistics.

Wild west? How about Colonial Times? Learn some history before you claim to know it. The 2nd Amendment was added to prevent tyrannical threats from abroad or from within. Did you know the first shot of the Revolutionary war was due to the government trying to take a person's weapon.

An otherwise helpless woman who could had been raped, killed or robbed (in this case) ends up chasing the thug and winning the fight.

We live in a world where people WILL use their power (muscular or otherwise) to impose their will on you. If you are weaker or just the victim it is a human right to be able to get the upper hand by any means possible.

Hurray for the right to bear arms.

These incidents where a crime victim defends his/her life and the perpetrator flees or is killed happens a lot more times that you think.

I don't go 2 weeks without hearing incidents like these on the radio.

This is why I am full supporter of the 2nd Amendment.
