Raw video : One man was killed and 18 others injured in a bullfight in northwestern Colombia, authorities reported on Monday.

The victim was named as 26-year old Jose David Rodriguez.

The man died during the annual bullfighting event, 'Corralejas' in the town of Sincelejo.

The event runs for 6-days and is an explosive - and sometimes lethal - mix of alcohol, bullfighting and music.

An average of 20 participants die each year in the 'Corralejas,' which have been held annually for more than 150 years in towns across Colombia's northern plains.

However, unlike in traditional bullfights with skilled matadors, it is forbidden to kill the animals.
