Caught In a Avalanche
Footage of rescue of a skier getting buried in an avalanche in Verbier, Switzerland in 2011. Buried under 2 meters of snow, what saved his life was the air pocket he formed by holding his hands in front of his mouth.

He's one lucky guy. I've been buried myself and also been on two rescues where the person was not so lucky and we ended up recovering bodies.
The worst part is that when a person suffocates slowly, they become cyanotic due to low oxygen levels in their blood... which means they turn a vivid bluish-purple color. They also usually die with their eyes wide open and with a look of terror or sadness on their face.
It takes a long time to get that image out of your head.

Pretty scary shit, but it wasn't close to 2 meters of snow, and he deserved it by cutting into that fresh ridge line like that. Bet he doesn't do that again!

While being swept up in avalanche of any size must be scary as hell, I'm thinking this guy was buried under 2 feet of snow as opposed to 2 meters. Way too much ambient light around him.

Fuck that, Im glad Ive lived in Florida and Hawaii my whole life. Although every place has its dangers, experience and mother nature are two different things.

That was intense. He stayed calm for a while but started to get restless and breath heavier just before he was found. He may have lasted a few more minutes before losing conscious.

More like 2 inches not 2 meters but whatever.
Too much light for 2 meters of snow i would say.
