Russian president Vladimir Putin has announced in Wiesbaden that he would certainly go ahead with his planned trip to Iran.

Of course I am going to Iran, Putin told reporters, after meeting the German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a joint press conference on Monday, reported AP.

Putin emphasized that he would travel to Tehran, in spite of reports on the possible plot to assassinate him.

He noted that if he had listened to such threats by security services he would have never left home.

The Russian president said that the issues associated with the Caspian Sea littoral states would be high on the agenda of talks, during his visit to Iran.

He urged the need to settle Iran's nuclear issue peacefully and emphasized the significance of direct talks with Iranian officials on the case at every opportunity.

Meanwhile, Iran has dismissed reports on the so-called assassination plot.

  • Why is the west so scared of this. One trip will not change anything. We can see that Russia has supported Iran anyhow.

Let's see why the West is so scared of this: Iran is Russia's biggest neighbor in the Caspian, where Moscow is looking to restore its influence and take advantage of short transport corridors leading to the Persian Gulf. Battle of big powers, meanwhile Iranian ppl must live under the dark shadows of mullahs who are supported by Russians:(

  • Hopefully he does get killed. Might make them treat the Iran threat a more seriously.

  • As per psychic functioning (see Russia/TV Asahi/ Remote Viewing/ Japan, etc.), what is will be that Russia's President remains a top priority in terms of protection and respect. Tehran today is much safer than a place like Washington D.C., USA. I see further success for this world's favorite amongst Russia's progressive youth, the Honorable President Putin.
