Children's ATV Race Turns Ugly
Loading the player ...
These 5 and 6 year olds were putting on an exciting quad race when things turned ugly on the third lap.
The trouble started as the #1 driver took the lead coming out of turn four at the end of lap 2. On lap three, he took too much speed into turn 2 and hit the wall and was ejected from his quad. The driver of the #44, who he was battling for the lead, stopped and got off his bike. He was then run down by the third place driver.
The parents of the kid who was hit are the ones who recorded this video.
No serious injuries were reported.

Kinda have to agree. There's having fun and then there's putting your kid in danger for no good reason other than to maybe earn a little bit of money and let him have a great time. But you can have a great time without that kind of risk.

@MrsBean Question:
Why do you spell the word 'stupid', "stoopid"? Is there something I'm not grasping?

These kids obviously aren't very good at driving. One can't even make corners without hitting the wall and the other one lacks the wherewithal to cross a race track without getting run over. Considering the potential for serious injury, only a dumb parent would let their kid participate in this.

@recon721
Absolutely not.
First Schumacher started cart-racing at 8 years old in his parents cart-track, not at 5 or 6.
Second he is extremely cautious and safety aware.
Seriously only American idiots can risk injuring their own son at that age. And if he remains maimed for life, what could you say to him when he's grown up? Uh?
"Sorry but you know daddy liked to have you race and to shout wooo-hoooo! like a jerk and now you're crippled"

@tockelstein2005 - my 6yo nefew is a hellion on wheels (mini-bike). he wants to race everyone.
we let him, if there are any takers, but we also make sure he has a clear course. his older brother 7, seems a bit afraid of speed; but loves the skateboard. go figure.
hard to stop a sportsman.

No offense but what the fuck do parents expect by putting their young, not fully coordinated children on ATVS to race. Not exactly the top of the gene pool here.

At least happened in a controlled environment, where they do not threat the life and the health of the others.
I am worried that in my country, Bulgaria, it is a common practice to buy ATVs without registering them. On rural streets, but sometimes on city streets, and in parks, you can see children riding unregistered (no license plate), uninsured ATVs, producing a lot of noise, with their parents not giving a s**t about the others. I wonder what kind of citizens these children will become when More..

Quads are very, very dangerous. They're much heavier than motorcycles, and plenty of adults are hurt and killed riding them. I honestly can't imagine why someone would think putting a 5-year-old on one (even a small one) would be a good idea.
