If you knew how incredibily BORING it was 90% of the time in Iraq, you would understand why doing things like this appeal to so many soldiers. When you do go out on patrol, all you see is death and urban carnage... People living in the absolute worst conditions you can imagine. People take pot shots at you and most of the time it is hard to tell where it came from. It all gets very frustrating after a while and you need a release to get away from it all. That's why we blow shit up, play pranks on each other, etc etc. Gotta keep it real or you'll go nuts.
