According to the replay, it went in. At least that is what I saw.
Can any soccer gurus tell us if there is some set of rules that says it isn't a goal if the goalee takes possession or something?

The ball has to cross the line completely, i'm not sure if it did but even if it did that would be foul on the goalkeeper...

@Ferrante You are correct, the whole ball has to cross the line. I think that in some countries, correct me if I'm wrong, even have Goal Refs, that sit behind the goal.

Even that ref can sometime miss the obvious, such was the case about 10 days ago when a goal was not allowed to Ukraine against England (EURO 2012)...

@Martyr_Machine According to the International Football Association, "a goal is scored when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line, between the goalposts and under the cross bar." The outside of the goal is determined by the outermost edge of the goal posts and cross bar. If the ball does not fully cross the plane created by these three bars, a goal is not awarded.

Actually on the replay, the ball clearly passes over the white line. It is a goal.

Once the goal keeper has control of the ball with both hands, any contact by an opposing player is considered a foul. It could be argued she had the ball under control before being fouled and the ball crossing the line, if it actually did. Still a great initial save.
