The Philosophy of Liberty: Plunder
http://www.myfreesociety.com In this follow up video to The Philosophy of Liberty: Property, we explore Frederic Bastiat's concept of Legal Plunder. Is it ever OK for government to steal your stuff and give it to someone else? Or is government just a glorified organized crime syndicate ala Tony Soprano? Does it really make sense for citizens to plunder each other like competing bands of vikings?

Every developed nation taxes. Our founding fathers were against taxation without representation not taxation. Taxes that we hand under Clinton, the president who presided over our largest economic expansion would have a positive effect on the economy.

@BigDaddyHarrison - Bitching about taxes and bitching about what they are used for are two differnet arguments. If my taxes were being used to provide for the general welfare as opposed to specifc welfare, I wouldn't have as much of an issue. Politicians don't create prosperity they create economic bubbles...you know like the .com bubble and the housing bubble. Clinton also greatly reduced spending back down to 18% of GDP - we are now closing in on 27% of GDP - I don't care where you put the tax More..
