16.5.12 Russia. A man comes with an inch of his life while running across a pedestrian crossing. he weave through a traffic jam on the opposite lane into the path of a surprised driver.
driver is able to pull out an insane maneuver to avoid a deadly collision.

Yeah, that's true. But in a heavy traffic situation like that, just because a person has the right away doesn't mean they have to contribute towards causing an accident. In fact, in the US you can be cited for not avoiding an accident, or helping to create one unnecessarily.

@TheMonkeyOnYourBack A crossing is not a magic safety corridor, pedestrians MUST look before they cross.
You can't really blame the driver if he can't see the pedestrian and the pedestrian recklessly runs (as this guy did) onto the path of the incoming car, leaving almost no time for him to react.
Personally I always slow down for crossings, especially if something is blocking my view of the sidewalk, but the fact is that this guy didn't even seem to be speeding.

@JcRabbit Thats how it should be, But in Canada it is not, If you cant see you are expected to crawl up till you can see, those zebra crossings are required for the driver to stop for peds no matter what. in canada the driver would be charged with manslaughter if he hit and killed the man in this scenario.

Great reaction of the driver. Many drivers tend to veer to the same direction as the thing they're trying to avoid, thus making collision a certainty.
That driver veered in the correct opposite direction.
